Our Story
Rescue Story is a Catholic apparel brand based in Ventura, California. We design, print, and package all our products in our private studio with love and care for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God’s creation.
I created this company at the start of 2023 to share God's Word with everyone I met. In 2022, I had an encounter with our Lord that changed my life (see my Rescue Story below) and deepened my faith in a way I couldn't keep to myself. Thus, Rescue Story Apparel was born and it has grown into a brand that has prompted many meaningful conversations about Jesus (and facilitated a few high fives in His Name).
Just by wearing a shirt with the Name of our Lord or a prayer to one of his servants, hearts have been uplifted and worried minds have found peace. What a beautiful way to connect, I've seen, with fellow Catholics and those who may not share our faith but desire in some way to feel God's love.
I wear Rescue Story clothing daily in hopes of leading as many people as possible closer to Christ. My prayer is that our shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies will touch your heart, draw you deeper into God's love, and inspire you to boldly share His GOOD NEWS wherever you go.
I invite you to join Rescue Story in renewing your faith daily through fashion and becoming part of (or a bigger part of) the New Evangelization to share the Word of God everywhere. Go Forth and Wear the GOOD NEWS™ with what you put on! Tell everyone the greatest rescue story ever told and about how Jesus saved your life.
Rescue Story is a Catholic-owned and operated brand that donates a portion of all proceeds to those in need. We practice good stewardship of God’s creation by using eco-friendly garments, inks, and packaging, and we remember all our customers in our daily prayers.
May God bless and be with you always,
Jana

My Rescue Story (as told at a Good Friday reflection on the Seven Last Words of Christ)
“Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.”
I’ve been afraid of imperfection almost all my life. Most of my years have been marked by a fear of saying the wrong thing, doing the wrong thing, and being the wrong thing. But Jesus has been relentless in showing me I don’t have to worry about being perfect. I don’t have to be perfect to be loved.
Living with the constant fear of making mistakes was too heavy a burden when I was young; I caved in on myself under the pressure and withdrew. My teenage years included moment after moment of people pleasing to get love. Married life and motherhood? There too, a fear of rejection if I didn’t embody perfection. Fast forward to two years ago and nothing had changed. I’d spent nearly five decades trying NOT to be wrong and trying to EARN love. It backfired. What I got instead was misplaced trust, a prideful attitude, and memories of poor choices and self-destructive behaviors.
But, thankfully, Jesus stepped in. Jesus, who I forgot about as a girl, who’s church I abandoned as a teen, whose sacraments I took for granted in adulthood, and who I no longer knew when I cursed at God after my dad’s death; He told me my life could be different.
After all my sins against myself, others, and Him, Jesus stepped in with an offer of love and forgiveness. He offered forgiveness when he sent someone to preach to me on a plane. He offered forgiveness when He sent His Spirit to nudge me toward Him before my dad’s funeral. He offered forgiveness when He sent someone into a bar to talk to me about the Catholic Church.
He offered forgiveness when He gave me the grace to call out to Him in my darkest moment. Jesus was relentless in His desire to forgive ME and He continues to be. He pulled me out of my misery and said I didn’t have to be perfect and I didn’t have to EARN His love. I just needed to be sorry, accept His forgiveness, and be His.
So that’s what I did. That’s what I continue to do. To trust in the Mercy of the One who gave me everything. Who said, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.” Who through these words provided the love I always wanted.
Now, I want nothing more than to give everything back to Him.
